Siew Ng is Professor at the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Melbourne. She graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry and was awarded a PhD in immunology and intestinal inflammation by Imperial College London in 2009. Her research interests include the epidemiology, genetics and microbiota of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer biomarker and screening. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles including publications in Nature Genetics, Gut and Gastroenterology. She leads the first large scale Asia-Pacific epidemiologic IBD study and the Asian Microbiota consortium. She is peer reviewer of 14 journals and editorial board members for 5 biomedical journals. She is President of the Hong Kong IBD Society, Management Committee of the International IBD Genetics Consortium, and Deputy Secretary of the International Organization of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In 2014, she received the Distinguished Research Paper Award for Young Investigators and the JGHF Emerging Leader Lectureship Award.
